Dr.B.R.Ambedkar Medical College, has been established in the year 1981 by Anandaa Social and Education Trust. The emblem of Dr.B.R.Ambedkar Medical College, is a symbolic expression of compassion and sacred service to be adopted for the practice of modern medicine.Dr.B.R.Ambedkar Medical College salutes Gautama The Buddha, ocean of compassion and Bharatha Rathna Dr.B.R.Ambedkar Father of the Indian Constitution, the pole star guiding the destinies of the downtrodden of the society who inspired us to take upon ourselves the onerous task of running this institution. In this lush green campus of 25 acres of land at Kadugondanahalli, the Trust runs a Medical College including Hospital, School of Nursing, College of Nursing, Paramedical Institute which has colleges of Physiotherapy, Medical Laboratory Technology and Radiography. The elegant and imposing college building with its beautiful architectural design attracts the attention of all visitors. It is well planned and accommodates the Administrative block, Trust office, departments and a modern OPD Block. The hospital with 600 beds is also situated on the campus. The college is now affiliated with the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. The college runs the MBBS course as well as post-graduate courses in many subjects that are recognized by the Medical Council of India. Hostels: The college runs hostels for the men and women students separately within the campus at Kadugondanahalli. The hostel buildings with spacious rooms, lounges, recreation room having colour television sets in each of the hostels, with all other modern amenities, are built to ensure comfortable stay of the inmates, and a proper atmosphere for study. The women students' hostel, with a view to ensure absolute safety of the inmates, is fenced properly and secured Internet : Every Department and hospital has dedicated internet connection in the campus and provide round the clock access to resources on the net. Wireless network is also enabled in the college building, OPD block, Hospital, Library & Class room. ATM Facility : An ATM too is conveniently located in the campus.

Otherwise the eligibility conditions remain the same for them also. The Registrar, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences is the authority to decide equivalence of any other examination hence clarification may be sought directly from him. The candidates should have completed 17 years of age as on 31 December of the year of admission. The candidates from other states seeking admission to MBBS course must obtain eligibility certificate From Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka Selection : 40% of the seats reserved for Karnataka students. The selection of students is on the basis of merit in the common entrance test conducted by Govt of Karnataka followed by centralised counselling 40% of the seats are reserved for any India National including Karnataka. The selection is on the basis of merit in the common entrance test conducted by consortium of Medical, Dental and Engineering Private colleges of Karnataka (Comed-K) followed by centralised counselling Remaining 20% of the seats are to be filled by the Management, of which 15% is for Foreign Nationals/NRI and 5% for Institutional preference quota .
