The University shall be conducting KLE University All India Entrance Test – 2013 (KLEU-AIET-2013) for admission to various Under-Graduate courses viz. MBBS, BDS, BPT, BAMS, B.Sc. Nursing, Post Certificate B.Sc. Nursing, & B. Pharm., and Post-Graduate courses viz. MPT, M.D. Ayurveda, M.Sc. Nursing & M. Pharm. in the respective constituent units of the University viz. J.N. Medical College, V.K. Institute of Dental Sciences, Institute of Physiotherapy, Sri. B. M. K. Ayurved Mahavidyalaya, Institute of Nursing Sciences, Belgaum, and Colleges of Pharmacy at Belgaum, Hubli and Bangalore for the academic year 2012-13.

The KLEU-AIET-2012 will be conducted between 2:00 to 5:00 PM on Saturday, the 5th May 2012 at seventeen centers across the country viz. Belgaum, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, New Delhi, Pune, Jaipur, Panjim, Indore, Chandigarh, Coimbatore, Guwahati, Vijaywada, Kottayam, Mumbai, and Chennai.

K S Hegde Medical Academy is now a constituent unit of the Nitte University and is recognized by the Medical Council of India, Government of India. KSHEMA has signed an agreement of co-operation with the University of Texas Health Sciences Center, Houston, USA for co-operation in research on diseases like malaria and tuberculosis. The college has established a state-of-the-art regional research center on communicable diseases in collaboration with the University of Texas Health Sciences, on the campus. The Institute also has a staff exchange and training program  with Maimonides Hospital, Brooklyn, USA.

Keeping pace with changes in health sciences and technology, the hospital has started a super – speciality block consisting of Cardiology & Cardio Thoracic Surgery, Neurology & Neuro Surgery, Paediatric Surgery, Urology & Nephrology and Craniofacial Surgery departments.

These departments have advanced facilities such as ECHO, TMT and Holter for entire non-evasive work, state-of-the-art flat panel cathlab, a variety of interventional options including coronary and peripheral angiograms via femoral and radial route, coronary and peripheral angioplasties, drug eluting stent implantation, temporary and permanent pacing, AICD implantation, paediatric interventions like ASD, VSD, PDA and device closure, specialised laproscopic set up for paediatric patients, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, urethro reno scopy, neuro OT, neuro endoscope, spinal surgery equipment supported by a full fledged neuro ICU etc.

Mahadevappa Rampure (MR) Medical College Gulbarga Karnataka

The Government of Karnataka had decided to establish a Medical College at Bellary instead of Gulbarga. Hyderabad Karnataka Education Society under the leadership of Sri Mahadevappa Rampure started a Medical College in Private sector in 1963. Sri S. Nijalingappa, the then Chief Minister, Govt. of Karnataka, Sri. Veerendra Patil and Dr. D. C. Pavate helped in establishing the Medical college.

Medical College was started in 1963 with mission to bring out quality doctors by imparting quality education to meet the present and changing expectation of the people and improving the health status of the people of this region by offering health care and providing optimum training facilities for Medical students.

In 1973, Sri. Mahadevappa Rampure, the architect & founder of the Medical College left to heavenly abode and to salute his vision, dynamism and hard work in establishing this College, it was named after him as "Mahadevappa Rampure Medical College".

Initially clinical training was given in the Govt. District Hospital (Present District Health Office) on the Main road, which was having a very small space. Looking at the needs of the college & due to keen interest shown by the then PWD minister Sri. Veerendra Patil, Government started the construction of a 850 bedded hospital on Sedam road.

The hospital was ready in January 1967. The clinical training was shifted to the present District General Hospital.

The College got recognition from the Medical Council of India in 1972. It was the second private medical college in the Country after KMC, Manipal to get this recognition. College also got the recognition from the British Medical Council.
